What is some good ideas for a maid of honor speech to the bride?

I’m not sure but whatever you do DON’T congradulate the groom on marrying another bridesmaid – I MEANT to say the bride’s name. I swear!

I was at a wedding a few years ago and the person giving the toast was, well, toasted (drunk) he couldn’t remember his speech to he just ended up saying, “what the hell, to the bride and groom” took a swig and passed out. I wouldn’t suggest you do that, but I just wanted to share that with you!

Start off with how close you both were until you discovered boys. Talk about how destiny always seems to put the wrong people at the wrong time.. and how you knew from time ago how much your new brother-in law-loved your sister by some action you recall.. talk about it… then talk about how you knew your sister found the man of her dreams when she did something or said something about him. Tell him how lucky he is to have won the greatest person in the world (and mean it) and how blessed she is for finding someone who notices it.

you have to make it personal. did they go on a HORRIBLE first date and she joked she would never date him again? or was it a perfect first date and she knew he was the one? i liked on the gilmore girls when Roy reads a letter Lane wrote from like the 4th grade, about a boy she was going to marry (that was not the groom). make it sweet, but not embarassing in front of grandma.
