You need to focus on your friendship and your feelings and not the fact that it’s a “public speaking” thing.
As an introvert, how can I make a maid of honor speech without wanting to shrivel up and die?
Any creative suggestions for me?

Use the oldest trick in the book….. imagine everybody is naked…. then refrain from laughing, and continue your speech. Remember, they are also just people, and at least two thirds of them in the room won’t have the guts to do what you’re about to do. Chin up, and good luck!

Definitely short, sweet, with one sincere anecdotal story of your past (childhood, high school or college) to pull it all together.

Personally, I’d let your inspiration take you where it may, keep it to about 2 minutes (3 short paragraphs), and you’ll be perfect. Most of all, give yourself a least a week to write it. That will give you the time to revise, re-write and rehearse.

1. Keep it short- three paragraphs is enough.
2. Don’t try to be funny
3. Speak slowly and clearly
4. Don’t drink before the speech.
5. Good luck!
